Dealing with existential risk

The threat of existential risk is increasingly recognised by strategic planners as an issue of ever greater importance.

The Geneva Global Initiative (GGI) has been created to undertake research and promote understanding in the field of existential risks and ways to prepare to deal with them.

In a meeting on 19 June 2019, representatives from the OECD, the Graduate Institute Geneva’s Centre on Conflict, Development and Peace building, ETH Zurich, the Institute for Public Policy Research and King’s College, London came together to pinpoint ways to identify existential threats and examples of what is being done to date.

Some of the key points that came out of that meeting can be reviewed [here.]
