The issues of capacity, innovation and new forms of collaboration are essential to deal with the growing number of humanitarian crises – like that facing the Horn of Africa in 2011 – that the international community will face in the coming years. It is in this context that the corporate sector will become an essential player in preventing, responding to and reducing risk to humanitarian crises. This two month project offered an analysis of how the corporate sector responded to humanitarian needs in the Horn of Africa, as well as providing an insight into the role that it might play in the future.
