Making Futures Real Workshop
The Making Futures Real workshop has been developed by the HFP to serve as an introduction to futures issues and their relevance to an organisation’s operational activities. The one day workshop seeks to promote a shared understanding of what humanitarian futures involves and to provide information on practical steps that organisations with humanitarian roles and responsibilities can take to be prepared to deal with more complex and diverse crisis challenges in the future.
The workshop has been designed for those organisations with whom the HFP has a partner relationship already, serving as an orientation for those who will have an active role in either implementing or supervising joint activities as part of a specific collaboration with the HFP. We envision that the workshop will also be useful for groups and organisations that have an interest in futures and want to deepen their understanding of what it involves in the context of their own work.
The intended audience for the workshop includes country level directors, programme officers, regional or headquarters personnel and other key internal and external partners who may have a role in the work that the organization will be undertaking in collaboration with the HFP.
HFP piloted the workshop in September 2010. Now, as a result of that test the workshop design and materials will be revised and then ready for further testing and use. If you would like further information, please contact us at info@humanitarianfutures.org
