This report summarises the one‐day conference we jointly held in December 2009. Ten different speakers contributed from diverse perspectives: humanitarian NGOs, the United Nations, multinational corporations, academia, policy and research, and specialist commercial companies working to develop essential services or rebuild post‐conflict economies.
There are diverging views of course but also clear agreement on the growing humanitarian need. Further, there was consensus on the value of working together, and a wealth of examples and ideas about how this could be done.
